Elizabeth Diego / Vice ChairPerson

A seasoned Social/Community Development Expert with a wealth of experience on matters environment, natural and water resources management. Experience in private and public sector currently, the Manager Resource Mobilization & Stakeholder Engagement at Water Resources Authority. Elizabeth has at least 15 years’ experience in the field of community development, design, planning and implementation of various projects geared towards conservation of water resources, social development and livelihood enhancement. She holds an M.A in Project Planning and Management and B.A (Hons) in Sociology from the University of Nairobi. Elizabeth Chairs the Resource Mobilization Sub committee.
Kate Tsuma

Kate Tsuma / Treasurer

Kate is experienced in financial management, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation. She currently works in Nairobi City Water & Sewerage Company as the PME Coordinator. She has over 20 years’ experience spanning in financial management, Quality management Systems, Monitoring and Evaluation and process automation. Kate holds an MBA degree in strategic management from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting). She is one of the Founder members of WIWAS. She is the Current Treasurer and Chairs the Finance and Administration Committee.
Maureen Karugu

Maureen Karugu / Organizing Secretary

Maureen is a strategic communicator with 15 years’ experience in media and communication. She currently works at Nairobi City Water & Sewerage Company Ltd as the Corporate affairs & Liaison Coordinator where she deputises the Manager Corporate Affairs & Liaison department. She is a Certified Public Relations Practitioner (CIPR-UK), has a Master of Arts in Corporate Communication from Daystar University & a BSC. Communication & Journalism from Moi University. Maureen is one of the founding members of Women in Water and Sanitation Association. She has been serving in the Secretariat since 2016 when the association was formed. She heads Secretariat & Communication Sub Committee which is tasked with member communication & events as well as stakeholder engagement.
Cynthia Adhiambo

Cynthia Adhiambo / Assistant Org. Secretary

Cynthia is a Licensed Hydrologist working with Tana Water Works Development Agency(TWWDA). She has 5 years’ experience in remote sensing, conducting hydrological assessments, modelling watershed functions and ground water mapping. She is also a registered member of the Hydrological Society of Kenya, Environment Institute of Kenya and a NEMA Licensed Associate Expert. She is passionate about sustainable water abstractions for water projects. Cynthia is a BSc graduate in Hydrology and Water Resources Management with Information Technology from Maseno University. She is pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Sciences from the same institution. Cynthia serves in the Communication and Publicity Sub committee
Grace Kuria

Grace Kuria / Utilities Representative

Grace is a Non-revenue water Expert with 10 years’ experience in Water services provision and project management.  She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Development Studies (Project Management option) from Management University of Africa(MUA) and diploma in water engineering from Kenya water Institute (KEWI. In Nyeri water and sanitation Company(NYEWASCO) as the Officer Incharge of Non Revenue Water Division. She is passionate about saving every drop to ensure that everyone has access to safe and clean water. Grace chairs the Projects Implementation Sub committee.
Martha Keega

Martha Keega / NGO & Private Sector Representative

Martha Keega is a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Independent Consultant with 20 years of experience in international development sector in Eastern and Southern Africa. She has exclusively worked in WASH/Climate Change programmes for the last 14 years; in governance, institutional development, and monitoring and evaluation. She has previously worked as Country Monitor and Verifier for multi-year and multi-country WASH flagship programmes such as Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene for All (SS4HA) and UNICEF’s Accelerated Sanitation for All (ASWA). Martha has BA Economics and Sociology, University of Nairobi and M.Sc. Water and Environmental Management from Water Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC), Loughborough University. She is also a Ph.D. Candidate in Environmental Law at the University of Nairobi. Martha chairs the Capacity Building Subcommittee.
Jemimah Oyieko

Jemimah Oyieko / Youth and Students Representative

Jemimah is a 4th year student at the University of Nairobi, majoring in International Studies and Diplomacy. She holds a Diploma in the same field and a certificate in Women &; Leadership, African Civic Engagement. She works as the Office Administrator at bbw International, working under the PWaSS Project. Jemmimah is also a committed member of the Governing Council and a young leader at the Kenya Girl Guide Association, exemplifying her dedication to leadership and civic engagement.
Eng. Daniel Ng’ang’a

Eng. Daniel Ng'ang'a / Male Champion

Eng. Daniel Ng’ang’a is the emeritus Chairman of The Water Service Providers Association of Kenya (WASPA), Chairman Molo Technical and Vocational College and the Managing Director of Murang’a Water and Sanitation Company Limited. He has more than Fifteen (15) years experience in the Design, Development and Management of water and sanitation utilities in major towns in Kenya. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from JKUAT, Registered by EBK and an active corporate member of IEK, A Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Community Development from ABMA (UK).
